Medical Marijuana

Medical Marijuana – its something highly controversal because of the massive media campaign governments around the world have done to make it seem as dangerous as well heroine!!

I don’t really like Marijuana personally myself but if I was forced to use for medical purposes – yeah sure I would be smoking it, eating it, drinking it. The claims that Marijuana is a dangerous drug are laughable when I seen and been associated with people ranging from drug dealers to the average joe, sitting out back with a mate chilling with a joint.

My drug dealer friend, ok he first showed me what marijuana smelt like, what it looked like and proceeded to tell me some real facts about it. Some of these you will NEVER hear from any police or anti-drug educator.

He told me years ago that Marijuana in high amounts and he said to me that high amounts was like smoking it constantly one after another similar to a chain smoker was harmful, as anything is in large doses.
Eating in large amounts constantly – harmful.
Smoking (legal) cigirettes purchased from a gas station or supermarket – harmful.
There are lots of things in life that you can take, that are perfectly fine in moderation but Marijuana is the most well known drug that is probably the least harmful to have, has medicinal properties to it by nature, is not addictive (unlike what we’re taught in school) – unless smoked constantly, it may become harmful.

Ever since I could vote I have voted for the Green Party. One of my main reasons for voting for the Green Party was for Nandor Tanzos – whos probably one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met who openly admits he smokes Marijuana – but one thing that you’ll see is he definately isn’t classified as a “druggie”. He smokes less than alot of the druggies do, hes intelligent, you can talk to him and he has a family. I have massive respect for him because he stood up and let people know that he was a Marijuana smoker, hes not a druggie and he’s a respectable person who was trusted enough to enter parliment as a MP.

We need people like him who use marijuana for medical purposes and who smoke it recreationally with a friend to relax and socialise with friends.

I beleive in law reform that makes Marijuana legal if not decriminalized because the police have better things to do than bust some guy with a small bag of weed hidden in his house, who probably smokes it less than some cops do when they can be out there finding P labs before they start up and eliminate P which is alot more dangerous than a herbal plant that existed long before man walked the earth.

For teenagers at school reading this, question those who teach/tell you that marijuana is a dangerous drug and ask them what medicinal properties does it have next to Cocaine, Heroine & P and other even E!!

Hidden Easter Egg in Firefox 3!!

I’ve just discovered this now, type ‘ about:robots ‘ into Firefox 3 and an easter egg page will appear…

The first rule is Isaac Asimov’s first Law of Robots created in 1942 for his novel – I, Robot. The rules have been debated and thought over and updated, in doing so his rules has been the basis of many stories and movies.

Kataude mashin gâru (2008)

OMFG I’m watching The Machine Girl (aka Kataude mashin gâru (2008)) – the story of a girl whose brother was murdered by the son of a Yakuza family living nearby, was then captured and tortured. Escaping after losing most of her left arm, she saught refuge with her brothers best friends mother. They end up friends and after training and take the war to the Yakuza family.

Its a really over the top honor killing gore style, almost a parody but yet its the storyline…

Ultimately this movie is fucking awesome, you should watch this – its a wholesome movie where everyone dies, the good guys and bad guys all die in a barrel of insane levels of blood and gore!!

Eventual Death of MediaDefender

With the recent news of MediaDefender (a pro-active anti-piracy company that’s paid by the RIAA and Software companies to track down pirates, trash P2P networks with fake files and make life hard for people who pirate movies, software and music), attacking Revision3 by DDOS’ng their bittorrent servers that are used for their own use for their own Revision produced media.

Apparently MediaDefenders anti-piracy tatic is to infiltrate bittorrent servers with fake files – any bittorrent website – when their fake files are removed, MediaDefender take this as an attack to remove fake files inorder to keep the non-fake pirated movies, software and music available. So MediaDefender attack Revision3 which is in tow ethically wrong to do and illegal in some cases.

Revision3 seem to have taken the decision to not take legal action against MediaDefender, in which if they did they’ll win because the attack caused the Revision3 server network to collapse and fall over which costed Revision3 to lose about $100,000 in advertising revenue.

I think if MediaDefender continue their pro-attack stance on piracy, any kind of piracy even and complete lack of understanding of how the internet works now, even though they use it effectively enough to attack the copyright holders of the copyright their indirectly paid by to protect the copyright, how effective will MediaDefender be in a few years.

MediaDefender will continue to be on the attack unless they have been stopped, I expect that they will lose ALL support and alienate it self from legitimate Media organisations who embrace newer technologies like P2P & BitTorrent services to distribute themselves and they have to deal with companies like MediaDefender who are constantly paranoid to the point that they cant think about legitimate media ever being distributed via P2P networks because traditionally P2P networks were never used for such a type of use.

MediaDefender will die, not because of the business becoming obsolete by newer anti-piracy technologies but because the Media Industry themselves will pull ALL support for them and the cash flow will die!

Stargate Atlantis: Season 5 to come!!

I *LOVE* Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis and the whole show, it’s a real good show that’s had me as a loyal viewer to the TV screen since the day SG1 first appeared on TV all those years ago.

Stargate SG1 just completed its final season at season 10, so 10yrs given a season a year – scarey – im 23 so I’ve been watching since I was 13!!

I’ve recently completed a complete set of seasons of Stargate. I ensured I have all Stargate SG1 season 1 to 10, double checked them with Wikipedia (wow thats alot of episodes!) and I went thru Stargate Atlantis and made sure I had every episode. I did have to download the last episode to make up Season 4, The Last Man.

The Last Man episode was infact a really good episode, I liked how important Sheppard is to the entire expedition, whats best is McKay’s truely is a genius!

I can’t wait for Season 5 and with word that Jason Mamoa (Ronan Dex) that he’s thinking about leaving the stargate atlantis story, it should be a great wonder as to who might replace him!

From looking at what there is about Season 5, I’m facinated with the story notes collected about the episodes; The Daedulus Variations & Ghost in the Machine.

I can’t wait to watch them!!

Fixing computers

Well since I got back from Auckland I’ve been building computers and such. I’ve been so busy. I had 3 laptops to build, along with an entire computer and still got another computer to do.

I should start on a friends computer real soon. I really need to get her computer reinstalled and sorted, and ship it back down to her.

I’ve got to get back into blogging again, I know I should blog more – I’m not sure I don’t just blog alot. Should sort that out lol

Child Abuse 50’s Style

Here I am watching this discusting tv show called “Evacuation” that forces 6 boys and 6 girls to live in a house 50’s style. The point of the show is to live as WWII evacuaees would have done back in the war.

This show is just another peice of 3rd rate programming that just shows how much people are willing to push the repeated idea of show content there is of the past, WWII.

In an era where children were seen and not herd, programs like this serve as nothing but as a horrifying reminder to the many children who actually lived this and are forced to relive this when its imposed on them as entertainment on TV.

Employment abuse of children

Children can’t wait to grow up, they cant wait to be taken as an equal. They can’t wait to leave the challenges that come with being dismissed as a child.

On Target tonight, there was a story of these two girls who are contracted by Deltarg by a local manager who found a bunch of dump junk mail in an alley way on their run and without asking the children, fired them instantly but who was found out to offer their area of delivery to the girls best friend before all of this happened.

The girls being 12yrs old have no protection under the law and Deltarg has no policies in place to protect the girls. 

One of the junk mail distribution services Deltarg, is currently the biggest “employer”of 12-14yr olds in New Zealand.

It’s part of growing up, your first job is usually nothing, something you’ll never want to do again – junk mail runs… Whats worse is when this job is paying you barely nothing for the amount of work you do and the company who employs the supervisor who gave you the job provides no protection against you being treated unfairly and immorally!!

I find this appalling that children are being given jobs a fair amount of labour and are given little to almost nothing in the way of pay. Junk mail runs have never had a history of being the better paying jobs but it should never have a history of treating children like modern day slaves, this is the time of their life where they are learning that if they work they will get paid – they should never have to learn that just because they are kids they are completely unprotected and can be treated like shit and that the people who are doing it are going to get away with it because they are children and since there isn’t any protection for the children the supervisors who hired them for the junk mail runs will get away with it, because its lawful and the company has no policies to avoid their supervisors abusing children in this manner.

I believe everyone should get paid for the amount of work they do, if a child or teenager does an adults job, they should get paid an equal amount of pay as any other adult doing the same job.
If a child is doing a job, they should at-least get paid a decent amount or get youth rates.

I remember the riots in France, where youths all over France went out in protest and into riots because of the proposed law that made it easy to instantly dismiss youths from their employment for any reason they see fit, giving the youths with no rights at all.

Children all over the world work at low paying jobs as a start and what they don’t need is the degradation of being abused and treated like slaves with no rights so they get the message that children are here to be used and abused and there’s always more on the way so don’t care.

We need more ethics when it comes to children doing jobs, they should be paid a fair amount and not be raised to think that just because they are children, people can get away with that kind of behaviour and treatment towards children.

We aren’t going to give jobs like truck drivers, technical assistants or motel cleaning jobs to children but children have no concept of that, to a child a giving them a job of delivering 100 leaflets is awesome because it’s something they can do and they are getting paid, its their job and its their responsibility they’re doing their best and they know they can’t do the same job that their parents do, but its what they can do.
What are we doing to the children of any generation if we teach them that the job they are doing makes them less important than anyone else?
What will they think when they have the confidence to go for bigger jobs like checkout assistants and cashiers and shop assistants?
